Bishop Challoner Catholic College is delighted to have successfully been designated as a Teaching School. Please find below the information on Teaching Schools from the National College for School Leadership (NCSL):
“Teaching schools will offer training and support. They will identify and co-ordinate expertise across a group of partner schools, using the best leaders and teachers to focus on:
- ITT – training new entrants to the profession alongside other partners, including universities
- CPD and leadership development – leading peer-to-peer learning and spotting and nurturing leadership potential
- School to school support – providing support for other schools eg through the involvement of NLEs and LLEs and the brokering of support from specialist leaders of educations (SLEs).
121 teaching schools were designated in the first cohort and included primary, secondary and special schools.”
Currently there are 36 schools in our Teaching School Alliance, including 8 Primary Schools and one Special School.
