Our LEPP Strategies
Aims:
- to make use of data to focus on underachievement
- to share, develop and implement strategies to provide effective intervention for targeting students at risk of underachieving, to address deficiency and ensure systematic improvement
- offer CPD opportunities for staff
- develop methodologies to enhance learning and teaching
Actions:
- identify students at risk of underachievement in Maths
- hold termly meetings of Maths subject leaders and ASTs to share and develop intervention resources/strategies to be implemented
- hold standardisation workshop for KS3
- organise CPD workshops for Maths staff
- develop the use of new technologies to enhance learning and teaching
- TEEP trained Maths staff to attend regular workshops to produce TEEP resources to be used in schools
New Technologies
Aims:
- to develop the use of new technologies to engage
- to integrate ICT tools more effectively to create an inclusive, creative, innovative and exciting learning environment
Actions:
- hold regular meetings of New Technologies group to conduct research and disseminate findings
- develop the use of new technologies to engage
- offer CPD opportunities to help practitioners integrate ICT into their teaching to best effect, share examples of good practice on use of tools and offer guidance on how their use can boost the learning potential of students including 2 joint ICT Inset afternoons
- conduct research into on-line reporting to parents
- hold regular meetings of MFL staff to share good practice/resources and to develop the use of new technologies to transform the learning experience and create new opportunities for teachers to engage and motivate students
Student voice/empowering students
Aims:
- to implement strategies to develop student voice
- to involve students more in their own learning
Actions:
- hold regular meetings of focus students (3 students from each school)
- hold student focus group learning walks
- develop suggestions made by student focus group
- make use of technology to involve students in their own learning eg blogs, discussion groups, podcasts etc
- use students' views of new technologies that are being used outside of school to be able to make use of them within school
- student focus group to organise a student conference
Aims:
- to develop activities for G&T students
- to involve students in the choice and organisation of these activities
- to develop G&T resources
Actions:
- 6 G&T students from each school to be identified for each subject (English, Maths, Science, ICT and MFL)
- hold regular G&T meetings of staff and students to organise activities for students
- activities to be implemented and evaluated
- develop resources for use with other G&T students in school
