At Bishop Challoner our aim is to develop a cutting edge education for our pupils, we are therefore investing heavily in New Technologies which are going to be at the heart of education in the future. More than ever, our young people will have to compete with better a trained and cheaper work force across the world. We are therefore developing an E-Learning strategy that will equip pupils with the skills needed for the 21st century.
We are currently piloting a project with teaching group 7Y1 to show how the use of netbooks, as pupils' personal ICT devices, can make their learning more effective and engaging thanks to active interaction and an easy exchange of information between teachers and pupils. The pilot will last until July 2010 and we hope to use our experience from this scheme to rollout further netbook initiatives across the rest of the School.
